May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
Celebrate with School Datebooks by encouraging students and staff to journal, prioritize self-care, and build healthy habits.
Taking time for mental well-being is essential.
Whether you’re a student managing deadlines, a teacher juggling responsibilities, or a team striving for balance, small habits like journaling, planning, and mindful time management can make a big impact.
Through intentional organization, we help take the overwhelm out of everyday routines – so you can focus on what really matters.
Read our May blog to explore how simple planning tools and self-awareness practices can support a healthier, more focused mindset – both in and out of the classroom.
May 1st – Agriculture and Labor Day
Behind every harvest is a story of dedication, early mornings, and countless hands working the land. This month, we pause to honor the people who grow, produce, and provide – our agricultural community.
We’re proud to support this work through Ag Printers. From custom seed tags to durable bulk box signage, our tools are designed to help growers stay organized, stay compliant, and stay focused on what they do best – feeding the world.
It’s about more than printing. It’s about preserving progress and investing in the future of farming.
May 1st – School Principal’s Day
Great schools thrive when many dedicated people work together, and principals play an important part in that team.
From supporting teachers and staff to helping shape the learning environment, principals guide with intention, care, and a deep commitment to student success. They’re collaborators, problem-solvers, and advocates who help schools stay focused on what matters most: learning, growth, and community.
This Principal’s Day, we thank those who lead quietly, support consistently, and show up every day to make a difference.
May 4th – Star Wars Day
May the Fourth be with your lessons!
Whether you’re building galaxies, exploring the physics behind lightspeed, or encouraging students to design their own droids, STEM learning can be just as adventurous as a trip to a galaxy far, far away.
May 5th – Cinco de Mayo
Today, we honor Mexican heritage, history, and culture. From classrooms to community spaces, it’s an opportunity to spark conversation, share traditions, and reflect on the value of cultural understanding in education and beyond.
May 6th – National Teacher Day
Let’s hear it for the teachers! Today, we thank educators everywhere for their creativity, dedication, and daily impact. Whether it’s shaping young minds or going the extra mile (again), we’re grateful.
May 6th – 10th – Teacher Appreciation Week
A whole week to recognize the superheroes of the school system? Yes, please!
At School Datebooks, we’re proud to support teachers with tools that make classroom organization easier and their time more productive.
May 11th – Mother’s Day
This year, Mother’s Day means even more to us at SDI Innovations.
In 1985, Sharon Powers – a mother of four, former teacher, and passionate believer in student success – started what would become School Datebooks right from her kitchen table. What began as a small planner company serving local schools grew into a national brand that has empowered millions of students over the last 40 years.
Sharon didn’t just build a business.
She built a legacy of organization, care, and confidence – values that continue to guide our work every day.
Now, in our 40th year, we’re proud to celebrate Sharon’s vision – and all the mothers, caregivers, and educators who help students grow, plan, and thrive.
This Mother’s Day, we honor Sharon and all the women like her who turn everyday tools into life-changing resources.
May 21st – National Employee Health and Fitness Day
Movement fuels focus, and small habits can spark big change. This National Employee Health and Fitness Day, we’re celebrating the everyday choices that support a healthier, happier workplace.
Whether it’s a lunchtime walk, a quick stretch between meetings, or planning ahead to avoid burnout, wellness starts with intention.
See how SDI Innovations encourages balance, connection, and well-being across our teams.
May 27th – Memorial Day
We honor and remember the service members who gave their lives in pursuit of freedom and peace. On Memorial Day, we pause to reflect, respect, and express our gratitude.
